These are one of those pairs that look completely different depending on which side you’re looking at. As with all my Scrap Couture pieces, they’re made from carefully chosen fabrics that come together to make something you won’t find anywhere else.
One side features colourful snails, leaves and little woodland details scattered across a bright turquoise background. The rainbow shells and tiny creatures give the fabric a playful feel, while the lilac waistband keeps everything soft and comfortable around little waists. The mismatched cuffs, one orange and one berry pink, add another splash of colour and suit the print perfectly.
Turn them around and the whole look changes to a rich garden packed with flowers in every colour imaginable. Deep purples, bright oranges, reds and blues fill the fabric, giving the reverse a completely different feel while still working beautifully with the front. It means there’s always a favourite side, although it may change from day to day.
Handmade in my St Ives workshop from 95% cotton and 5% lycra cotton jersey, these harem trousers are soft, stretchy and comfortable for everyday wear. Wash at 30 degrees, line dry and use a gentle iron if needed.
